2020 F-150 vs 2020 Tundra: Performance SpecificationsÂ
Â
Trucks mean power and there's no denying it. It's no
different in the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra, however, there are some things
that differentiate these models when it comes to what is under the hood.
Leading the way is the 2020 Ford F-150, which comes equipped
with one of six powerful engines. Among these engines is the available High
Output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine which works alongside an available 10-speed
automatic transmission. These two impressive pieces of equipment produce an
incredible 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque for a truly unforgettable
ride. Read more about the Ford
F-150's performance specs.
The 2020 Toyota Tundra, on the other hand, only has one
engine across all of its trim levels-the 5.7L V8. With this model, you won't find any
high-output engines like the F-150 has to offer or any chances to upgrade to a
more powerful performance. As a result, you'll max out at a power output of 381
horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.
Additionally, you'll only have one transmission to pair with
your engine in the Tundra. This 6-speed automatic engine won't be able to shift
as smoothly without as many gears.

F-150 vs Tundra: Towing & Hauling CapabilitiesÂ
Â
With the robust configurations in both the Ford F-150 and
Toyota Tundra, towing and hauling come easy for both models. Although, one may
leave you wanting a little oomph where it counts. Let's take a look at
both towing capacities and payloads now. Â
With all the power that the Ford F-150 is packing, it should
come as no surprise that this pickup can move literal tons of trailer weight. On
top of that, this pickup truck offers a best-in-class payload rating. When
properly equipped, the 2020
Ford F-150 can tow up to 13,200 pounds with extreme ease. Hauling is also a
breeze with a payload that reaches up to a whopping 3,270 pounds.
With only one engine for all of the Tundra trim levels,
you're going to find a lesser towing rating in this truck. In fact, the most
this model can tow when properly equipped is 10,200 pounds. This is paired with
a payload that is significantly less as well, coming in at 1,730 pounds.
Additionally, the F-150 makes towing and hauling easier and
safer than ever with a suite of advanced trailering technologies. Included in this
is the class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢ feature which allows you to steer
your trailer with your pickup just by turning a knob.
Other smart towing features available in the 2020 Ford F-150
include:
- Dynamic Hitch AssistÂ
- Trailer Information Productivity
Screen
- Trailer Sway Control
