How Much Can the 2021 F-150 Tow?

Ford has given the 2021 F-150 a 6-engine lineup, allowing all types of truck drivers to find the configuration that works best for them. Plus, when properly equipped, the F-150 has greater towing capacity than before. Which engine will give you the capability you need?

  • 3.3L V6: This standard engine boasts 290 horsepower (HP) and 265 lb-ft of torque for a max towing capacity of 8,200 pounds.
  • 2.7L EcoBoost® V6: Slightly more power is generated in this engine, giving you 325 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque. Because of the elevated strength, this 2021 F-150 can tow up to 10,100 pounds with proper packaging.
  • 3.5L EcoBoost® V6:  This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and supplies an impressive 400 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque. This results in a max towing capacity of 14,000 pounds.
  • 5.0L Ti-VCT V8: More muscle is found with this configuration and its 400 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque. This not only gives you a 13,000-pound tow rating, but a best-in-class payload of 3,325 pounds as well.
  • 3.0L Turbo Diesel V6: This engine gives you a maximum towing capacity of 12,100 pounds, thanks to its 250 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque.
