Overview
The 2015 Ford F-350 Chassis Cab is the smallest in Ford's latest lineup of chassis vehicles. As with its larger companions in the model year (the F-450 and F-550), the F-350 comes in three distinct versions, with a starting MSRP of $31,400 for the basic model.
Exterior Features
The exterior features of the F-350 largely match those of the rest of the line, including roof clearance lights and solar tinted windows as standard features. Unlike some models of the Chassis Cab, the F-350 leaves the cab steps as an option instead of a core feature.
Beneath the cab's body, the F-350 runs on seventeen-inch argent painted steel wheels, with the option of switching over to cast aluminum, polished aluminum, or larger 18-inch wheels. It's also worth noting that all-season tires are standard, while all-terrain tires are available as an option.

Interior Features
The F-350 comes equipped with all of the basics for a vehicle, including a powerful climate control system, along with many items that are largely unique to bigger trucks. Dome lamps, grab handles, map lights, and a pair of auxiliary power points all help to make its occupants more productive. The interior also has four upfitter switches that can patch in aftermarket parts to the vehicle's electric system - a standard feature in Ford's Chassis Cab line, and one of the most valuable functions for anyone worried about being able to use the accessories they've already bought.
A two-speaker AM/FM radio comes standard but can be upgraded to a four-speaker player with CD playback and the SYNC Communication and Entertainment system.
Mechanical Features
The standard engine on the F-350 is a 6.2L, eight-cylinder engine designed specifically for Class 2-3 operations, supported by its maximum of 385 horsepower. Many of the components of the engine are unusually thick, a design choice made specifically because of the force that the engine will often be subjected to. Without modifications, the engine can run on unleaded gasoline, E85, or any mix of the two - interior sensors automatically detect the ratio of the fuels and adjust accordingly. Keep in mind that use of fuels in various combinations may have a small but noticeable effect on overall performance.
As an alternate choice, buyers have the option of a 6.7L, eight-cylinder turbo diesel engine, built to both reduce the weight of the engine while simultaneously increasing power and performance. At the time this review was written, Ford had not released information on the average mileage for the 2015 F-350. However, it will likely be close to the average mileage ratings for previous years (14-15 mpg). The F-350's SRW version comes with a 28 gallon tank as standard, while the DRW increases it to 40 gallons, giving the versions an estimated average driving range of 392 and 560 miles, respectively.
Conclusion
The 2015 model of Ford's F-350 is a good addition to the lineup of vehicles. It's probably not worth upgrading to if you've purchased another F-350 (or similar vehicle) in the last few years, but it's definitely worth looking at if your previous truck is getting old and needs to be replaced. Individuals and companies who are buying a chassis cab for the first time should carefully compare the entire lineup of Ford's series before making any decisions, since there are a number of important differences.
In most cases, though, the F-350 is the model of choice for companies that need power, but not as much as the larger (and more expensive) models in the line can provide. With excellent overall power and performance, we're giving the Ford F-350 a solid overall rating of 4.5/5.
