The
2014 Ford Taurus sedan has been kept pretty much under wraps
over the last several months, but as we inch closer to the unveiling of the
coming 2014 models, more and more information is leaking out, giving experts
somewhat of an idea of where the 2014 Taurus may be
headed.
    Shots
of the 2014 Ford Taurus out in the wild have been accompanied by a layer of
camouflage over the body of the car. From what can be ascertained, however, it
appears that the body styling has undergone quite a change. A more aggressive
front end and sharper back end are what some are predicting based on the
photos.
    LED
lighting both up front and across the tail are also expected in keeping with a
trend many newly redesigned vehicles have been setting. Many also expect 2014 to
be a transition year for the Taurus, and speculation has it switching to the
Fusion platform in 2015. The 2013 Taurus had issues with interior space, and a
platform change would help alleviate
that.
    One
thing for sure, the 2014 Ford Taurus will include an EcoBoost engine option. The
turbocharged engines developed by Ford feature large displacement sizes and are
naturally aspirated while increasing fuel efficiency by 20% and reducing
greenhouse gas emission by 15%. The 2013 Taurus sported a 2.0L I4 EcoBoost
option, and rumor is that the Taurus will have an expanded EcoBoost option for
this year. In fact Ford recently put a 2014 Ford Taurus SHO on display at the
Detroit Auto Show recently with a 3.7L V6 EcoBoost
engine.
    The
coming months will tell us more about what the coming model year will hold for
the Taurus. To keep up to date on all the newest information as it comes out,
you will want to keep tabs on the lot at Fred Beans Ford-Kia in Mechanicsburg,
PA. While you wait, you can also test drive a new 2013 Ford Taurus as
well.
